Join us for a guided tour of Permanent Collection Masterworks 1945–1975 and a conversation about the work of John Chamberlain and Gordon Matta-Clark. Focusing on their methods of displacing and bending objects found in our daily world, artist Elonda Billera will teach participants to score, pleat, cut, fold, weave, roll, and bunch tactile materials in the gallery and beyond.

The Painting Factory: Abstraction after Warhol explores the recent transformation of abstract painting into one of the most dynamic platforms in contemporary art. The exhibition will address a painting tradition that was once seen as essentially reductive but has now become expansive, merging popular culture and current technology into its vocabulary, including works by Tauba Auerbach, Mark Bradford, DAS INSTITUT (Kerstin Brätsch and Adele Röder), Urs Fischer, Wade Guyton, Glenn Ligon, Julie Mehretu, Seth Price, Sterling Ruby, Josh Smith, Rudolf Stingel, Kelley Walker, Andy Warhol, and Christopher Wool.

Cai’s work integrates manual technique and new, highly sophisticated developments in pyrotechnic technology. The Avant/Garde Diaries presents Transmission LA: AV CLUB, curated by Mike D, an interdisciplinary festival featuring the work of 16 contemporary artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers, and chefs, including Peter Coffin, Jim Drain, Will Fowler, Benjamin Jones, Mike Mills, Takeshi Murata, and Tom Sachs. The presentation will include the international debut of the Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupé and an evening concert and DJ series featuring performances by many special guests, including Santigold. Monday: noon-6pm; Tuesday: closed; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: noon-10pm; Saturday: 11am-10pm; Sunday: 11am-6pm Transmission LA: AV Club will close between the hours of 5pm & 6pm on the following dates to prepare for music performances: Friday, April 27 Thursday, May 3, Saturday, May 5 Please note: The concerts and DJ series are FREE for all ages and open to the public but subject to capacity limitations.
