Cleaning Effort:
Have students experiment with color by mixing basic colors with black and white to create a series of different shades (by adding black to a color) and tints (by adding white to a color). Have them create an abstract design using as many shades of one color as possible.
Supplies You'll Need
- a variety of brushes
- one or more colors of tempera paint, plus black and white
- plastic plates (non-absorbent palettes)
- coffee stirrers
- paper
- cups with water
- paper towels
