With an emphasis on acquisitions made over the past several years, Room to Live features selected room-scale works and in-depth single-artist presentations from MOCA’s renowned permanent collection. Organized by Curator Bennett Simpson, the exhibition includes works spanning the 1960s to the present in a variety of media, including installation, sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, and video. Artists featured include Joan Brown, Cosima von Bonin, Moyra Davey, Günther Förg, Samara Golden, Nan Goldin, Mark Handforth, John Knight, Liz Larner, William Leavitt, Rodney McMillian, Rebecca Morris, Christian Phillipp Müller, Juan Muñoz, Bruce Nauman, Andreas Slominski, Henry Taylor, Bob Thompson, Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch, Marnie Weber, Amelie von Wulfen, and others.

Join MOCAtv at Printed Matter's LA Art Book Fair for a screening and panel on The Art of Punk, a three part series created by Bryan Ray Turcotte and Bo Bushnell featuring the art and artists behind the iconic punk logos of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, and Crass. After the screening, Bryan Ray Turcotte and special guests give a privileged look at some of the highlights of his collection of punk ephemera amassed over more than three decades, plus an announcement and the first sneak glimpse of season two spotlighting the artwork of three more iconic punk bands.

This event takes place at the The National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, Tateuchi Democracy Forum adjacent to the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA

LA Art Book Fair 2014

Printed Matter presents the second annual LA Art Book Fair, from January 31 through February 2, 2014, at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. An opening will be held on the evening of Thursday, January 30. Free and open to the public, the LA Art Book Fair is a unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by over 250 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers. Three new editions by artists Laura Owens, Jeremy Deller, and Parra will benefit the LA Art Book Fair.

Hours and Location
The LA ART BOOK FAIR is free and open to the public.
Opening: Thursday, January 30, 6–9 pm
Friday, January 31, 11 am-5 pm
Saturday, February 1, 11 am–6 pm
Sunday, February 2, 12 pm–6 pm
